A Comparison between Two Ways of Relining With Soft Denture Lining Materials (An in-vitro Study)

چکیده
This study was done to compare two ways of relining with permanent soft denture lining materials. In this study, two types of specimens group-A and group-B were used. Group-A was made by using vacuum formed spacer and Group-B was made without using vacuum spacer [simple conventional method]. After converting, polishing and finishing the specimens, selected tooth areas were relined i.e.11,12,21,22,26,27,31,32,36,37,41,42 for both groups. First, selected tooth areas were cut to maintain 2mm thickness in respected tooth areas. For relining permanent soft denture lining material Molloplast-B was used which was placed on cut tooth region. After relining, completed relined portions were measured with measuring tool (digital calliper) in mm and comparison between two groups was done. Group-A specimens were made using vacuum formed spacer and relined with soft denture lining materials at 11, 12, 21, 22, 26, 27, 31, 32, 36, 37, 41, 42. When thickness was measured with measuring tool, Group-A specimens were less in thickness than Group-B. Within the limitation of this study, it can be concluded that when vacuum formed spacer with permanent soft denture lining material was used, results were more accurate.

Tensile and shear bond strength of hard and soft denture relining materials to the conventional heat cured acrylic denture base resin: An In-vitro study.
BACKGROUND The condition of the denture bearing tissues may be adversely affected by high stress concentration during function. Chairside Denture (Hard and Soft) reliners are used to distribute forces applied to soft tissues during function. Tensile and shear bond strength has been shown to be dependent on their chemical composition. A weak bond could harbor bacteria, promote staining and delam...

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Poor wettability of denture relining materials may lead to retention problems and patient discomfort. PURPOSE Purpose of this study is to compare and evaluate wettability of nine denture relining materials using contact angle measurements under air and water storage over time. MATERIAL AND METHODS Nine denture relining materials were investigated in this study. Two heat...
متن کاملPhysical property comparison of 11 soft denture lining materials as a function of accelerated aging.
Soft denture-lining materials are an important treatment option for patients who have chronic soreness associated with dental prostheses. Three distinctly different types of materials are generally used. These are plasticized polymers or copolymers, silicones, or polyphosphazene fluoroelastomer. The acceptance of these materials by patients and dentists is variable. The objective of this study ...
متن کاملOral health-related quality of life of edentulous patients after complete dentures relining.
BACKGROUND/AIM Tooth loss affects oral health-related life quality. More than a third of edentulous patients are not fully satisfied with their complete dentures and mainly complain of insufficient stability, retention, and pain during mastication. Solving the problem may include relining by materials that are based on silicone or acrylic. The aim of this study was to determine the level of pat...
متن کاملElectromyography of masticatory muscles after denture relining with soft and hard denture liners.
We evaluated electromyograms of masticatory muscles after denture relining with soft and hard liners. In total, 44 patients with complete dentures were studied: 22 underwent chairside relining of mandibular dentures with a soft, silicone-based liner (Mucopren Soft); the other 22 underwent relining with a hard, acrylic resin-based liner (Kooliner). Electromyograms of the masseter and temporal mu...
